CAIRO, May 17 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Saturday inspected the newly developed Al Salam bus Station during his tour of the first phase of the trial operation of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project on the Ring Road.

During the visit, Madbouli was briefed by Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber on the launch of the multi-story bus stop.

The station has begun receiving passengers following its gradual operation, the governor said, adding that the station is now one of the largest stations in Cairo at the entrance of Al Salam City, adjacent to the Ring Road.

Al Salam parkinglot was built by the National Roads Company and consists of three floors, accommodating 2,500 vehicles, the governor said.

It serves approximately 39 regional transport lines and 18 local lines within the governorate, the governor said, adding that it includes 254 commercial shops.

He pointed out that the Cairo Governorate has completely cleared Al-Sadat Square of street vendors, enhancing the area with painting, lighting, and paving work. (MENA)
