MALABO, July 12 (MENA) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday arrived to Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, to participate in the seventh Mid-Year Coordination Summit Meeting of the African Union (AU).
President Sisi is due to participate in the coordination meeting, which is usually limited to a number of African leaders, in light of Egypt's presidency of the North African Regional Capability (NARC) and its chairmanship of the Steering Committee of Heads of State and Government of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), according to Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy.
During the summit, the president will review Egypt's efforts to develop the work of the two mechanisms, which will strengthen peace, security, and their connection to development and stability goals in the African continent, the spokesman said.
President Sisi will meet with a galaxy of African leaders to discuss the challenges facing the African continent and explore ways to bolster continental stability to fulfill the aspirations of African peoples for prosperity and development, the spokesman added. (MENA)
