CAIRO, June 20 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reiterated on Friday Egypt's call for ending the current escalation and resuming negotiations to reach an agreement on Iran's nuclear program.
The top diplomat gave the remarks during a phone call with his British counterpart David Lammy that comes as part of intensive contacts over the current military escalation between Israel and Iran.
The two ministers exchanged views on the escalating situation, with Abdelatty underlining the need to maintain European efforts and international coordination to contain the crisis and prevent the conflict from expanding.
The ministers agreed to maintain close coordination and work hand in hand to de-escalate the situation and make the best use of available diplomatic channels to achieve calm in the region. (MENA)
