CAIRO, June 18 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty discussed over the phone with his Iraqi, Saudi and Bahraini counterparts; Fuad Hussein, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, respectively, the latest regional developments in light of the military escalation between Israel and Iran.

The talks reviewed the repercussions of this escalation on regional and international security and peace.

This fell within the framework of continued communication and coordination with Arab countries in light of the accelerating regional developments.

The ministers exchanged views on means of containing the escalation and ceasing fire to stave off the expansion of military confrontations.

They underlined the importance of settling the crisis via political and diplomatic solutions and exerting efforts to prevent the region from plunging into chaos.

They highlighted the importance of resuming negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program.

They agreed to continue coordination to follow up on the latest developments, intensify joint efforts to halt escalation and revive negotiations. (MENA)
