SOFIA, March 9 (MENA) - Sofia's Vasil Levski Airport has announced the cancellation of 12 flights on March 10 due to the strike of airport workers in Germany, the Bulgarian News Agency reported Sunday.

Due to the strike, Lufthansa airline has cancelled some flights to and from Vasil Levski Sofia Airport on March 10, according to the Sofia airport's Facebook page.

The airport urged all affected passengers to contact Lufthansa for more information and ticket re-validation options, as well as to follow the latest information on the Vasil Levski Sofia Airport website and the airline's official channels.

On Friday, the Situation Center of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was informed that the German trade union Verdi has announced a 24-hour warning strike, which will begin at midnight on March 10, 2025.

The union has called on public sector and ground service employees in Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Hannover, Bremen, Hamburg, Berlin-Brandenburg and Leipzig-Halle to stop work for the entire day. Mass cancellations and flight delays are expected for the day, the foreign ministry said. (MENA)
