CAIRO, Dec 5 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelaty held a phone call on Thursday with his Eritrean counterpart Osman Saleh.

The contact tackled ways of boosting bilateral cooperation as the two sides demonstrated keenness on developing relations in the trade, economic and political domains.

They also agreed on building on the historic visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Eritrea on October 10, a visit that paved the way for launching a new stage in the history of the two countries' relations.

They expressed hope of holding political consultations and maintaining coordinating meetings between Egypt, Somalia and Eritrea.

The contact comes in implementation of directives of both Egyptian and Eritrean presidents to maintain consultations over regional issues.

The contact tackled a number of regional issues, including supporting security and stability in the horn of Africa region.

They underlined the importance of respecting the sovereignty of Somalia and the integrity of its territories. (MENA)
