EL ALAMEIN, Egypt, July 28 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Thursday chaired the 9th meeting of of the Supreme Committee concerned with preparations for COP 27, due to convene in Sharm El Sheikh in November.
A number of ministers, government top officials and the South Sinai Governor attended the meeting.
Addressing the conferees, Madbouli said the committee involved a large number of ministers and state officials as part of the state's keenness on following up all aspects needed to prepare for COP27 in order to render a success the international event and crown all efforts exerted by Cairo, whether at the local, regional or international levels, to support climate issues and protect the developing countries especially in Africa.
Cabinet Spokesman Ambassador Nader Saad said the meeting covered the executive status pertaining to the initiatives that will be launched at the conference as well as coordination over the subjects to be raised by various ministries during the conference proceedings.
They also addressed the logistic and organizational parts for launching a website for booking hotels, the emergency medical plans and electronic applications that will be used by the participants in the conference, added the spokesman.
He also made it clear that the meeting tackled efforts to garner up all funding needed from development partners, international funding institutions as well as the multilateral development banks along with the private sector.(MENA)
