WASHINGTON, July 9 (MENA) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday his second meeting in two days with US President Donald Trump at the White House focused on efforts to secure release of hostages stressing that Israel “will not back down” from this goal.
According to Haaretz, the Israeli prime minister wrote in a post on the social media platform X: “We are dedicating all our efforts to ensuring the release of our hostages… and we will not stop for a moment.”
Netanyahu's meeting with the US president at the White House came as part of an official visit lasting few days, amid the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and continued US efforts to push for a ceasefire.
This was the second meeting between the two sides within 48 hours, coming at a time when Washington is trying to balance its support for Israel with increasing international calls to address the humanitarian situation in the Strip.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu seeks to bolster US backing for his government’s stance on the hostages and its military pressure on Hamas. (MENA)
