BUENOS AIRES, June 30 (MENA) - Deputy of Argentine province of San Juan Franco Aranda has introduced a bill to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into school and university curriculum as the document will be considered by parliament, Ahora San Juan, a partner of TV BRICS, said Monday.
According to Aranda, rapidly developing technologies require the educational system to respond quickly. He explained that the bill is aimed at the gradual and comprehensive inclusion of AI teaching in the curricula of public and private institutions.
The authors of the document pay special attention to the ethical aspects of AI, based on the recommendations of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and UNESCO. In addition to teaching schoolchildren and students how to work with artificial intelligence, the bill provides for the retraining of teachers and the development of the necessary infrastructure: all educational institutions in the province will have access to high-speed Internet.
The authorities believe that AI education should not be the privilege of a narrow circle of specialists or the city elite, but an inalienable right of every resident of San Juan.
If approved by Parliament, the bill will be referred to specialized committees for consultation with experts, education-sector representatives, and the wider public. (MENA)
