CAIRO, June 23 (MENA) - Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Henno and Governor of North Sinai Khaled Megawer inaugurated the Qatya Culture House in Bir el- Abd city after its renovation on Monday.
The ministry undertook Qatya Culture House complete reconstruction and restoration following its destruction at the hands of brutal terrorism.
This inauguration marked the beginning of the minister’s visit to North Sinai Governorate and came as part of celebrations of the Ministry of Culture of the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution.
This opening aligns with the Ministry of Culture’s strategy aimed at establishing cultural justice and enhancing the reach of cultural products across the country, especially in border and remote areas, in line with the goals of the New Republic.
Henno emphasized that inaugurating the Qatya Culture House at this particular time, from the heart of beloved Sinai, sends a powerful message; culture is a cornerstone of comprehensive development.
He directed that the Culture House operate in two shifts - morning and evening - to ensure it serves the largest possible number of residents from the village and surrounding areas.
Magawer affirmed the vital role of culture in promoting national values and enhancing community awareness.
He noted that the governorate places great importance on supporting cultural initiatives and activities carried out by the Ministry of Culture and is committed to creating a supportive environment for cultural institutions across the various cities and centers of North Sinai.
The governor explained that the opening of this Culture House is part of a broader series of developmental and cultural projects currently underway in the governorate, aiming to support the state’s efforts in human development, especially in the fields of education, culture and arts. (MENA)
