CAIRO, June 23 (MENA) - Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania el-Mashat will co-chair the World Economic Forum's 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2025 to be held in the Chinese city of Tianjin on June 23-26.

In a statement released on Monday, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Cooperation said, Mashat left for China to attend the forum's annual meeting that will bring together policymakers, private sector leaders, and entrepreneurs from more than 90 countries.

The statement added the minister will take part in the opening press conference of the forum's annual meeting.

She will also partake in panel discussions on energy, advanced manufacturing and accelerating economic growth through innovation-led policies, along with her participation in a session dedicated to China's Belt and Road Initiative, the statement read.

The minister will meet with representatives of the private sector, development partners and heads of governments, according to the statement.

The forum's annual meeting will focus on accelerating transformation in the energy and manufacturing sectors by promoting the adoption of clean technology and innovative solutions to achieve sustainable development goals.

It will also focus on boosting global trade and investment partnerships amid the current geopolitical changes and shifts in the world economic order; strengthening regional and international cooperation through multilateral platforms to enhance integration and knowledge exchange, particularly between China and countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

Meantime, the meeting will tackle ways to support inclusive and market-responsive policies, with emphasis on financing green transition projects, low-carbon economy initiatives, in addition to advancing the role of women in the development process. (MENA)
