The IAEA director general briefed president Sisi on updates of the Iranian nuclear file as well as the situation in Ukraine, Abdelatty said.
The top diplomat added that he discussed with Grossi ways to enhance cooperation and exchanged views on the growing role of nuclear science and technology in contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals and addressing global challenges, including climate change.
He affirmed Egypt’s support for the valuable initiatives launched by the IAEA director aimed at enabling developing countries, including Egypt, to benefit from various nuclear applications that support the development agenda.
The meeting tackled regional developments, the minister said, highlighting Egypt’s firm stance on establishing a zone free of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East. (MORE)
