SOFIA, May 18 (MENA) - Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has arrived in the Japanese capital Tokyo on top of a delegation from his country.
While in the Japanese capital, Radev is scheduled to have an audience with Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace, the Bulgarian News Agency reported on Sunday.
During his stay in Tokyo, the Bulgarian president will meet with Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, with whom he will sign a declaration to elevate bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership.
Radev's program for his visit includes participation in an economic seminar organized by the Bulgarian Embassy in Japan and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), meetings with the administration of JETRO, the Japanese technology company Toshiba, the Japan Business Federation Keidanren, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
During his visit, the Bulgarian president will visit Japan's Hyakuri Air Base and the research center of Japan's largest scientific organization RIKEN.
He is also set to deliver a lecture on Bulgaria-Japan relations at Waseda University.
The Bulgarian head of state previously visited Japan in 2019 for the emperor's enthronement ceremony. (MENA)
