GAZA CITY, May 18 (MENA) - Media Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Gaza Raed al-Nims confirmed deterioration of health system in northern areas of the Gaza Strip due to closure of all hospitals and Israeli occupation troops' continued obstruction of ambulances and medical personnel seeking to save the lives of sick and injured Palestinians.
In a statement to Cairo News Channel on Sunday, the PRCS media director said, "PRCS crews are working around the clock to rescue victims of the ongoing war on the northern Gaza Strip, despite the real danger threatening medical personnel, in light of the systematic Israeli targeting of hospitals and medical and humanitarian personnel working in those areas."
Nims added that since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza, the Israeli occupation has deliberately targeted all medical centers operating in the Strip, noting that more than 56 primary care centers have been put out of service due to repeated Israeli attacks.
The Palestinian Red Crescent's media director described the health situation in Gaza as "bitter," stressing that the emergency response faces a number of challenges, including the lack of fuel needed to operate vehicles and spare parts for vehicle maintenance.
These vehicles are in dire need of equipment that the occupation forces refuse to allow into the Strip, he said, affirming the PRCS 's commitment to quickly transporting the wounded and injured in the northern areas to Saraya Field Hospital, established to support the health organization due to repeated Israeli attacks.
The media director of the PRCS also emphasized the need to transfer a number of other casualties to the Al-Shifa Medical Center and Al-Quds Hospital, in Tal al-Hawa area to provide all necessary medical services for each case. (MENA)
