CAIRO, May 7 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the House of Representatives is currently discussing a draft of the old rentals' new law and is conducting a community dialogue with the participation of various stakeholders.
In the end, whatever is agreed upon at the House of Representatives will be approved by the government; as it is already participating in relevant discussions through the ministers concerned, Madbouli told journalists and media personnel during a press conference following the Cabinet's weekly meeting on Wednesday.
The press conference was attended by the minister of supply and internal trade and the head of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Asked about the effect of the truce declared in Yemen on navigation in the Suez Canal, the prime minister said developments are being monitored daily, especially the ceasefire announcement that shall restore stability in the Red Sea and encourage global shipping companies to return to the Suez Canal.
"We view this news positively, and the Suez Canal Authority has already begun communicating with global shipping companies to return to the world's largest shipping lane as soon as possible," Madbouli said.
Regarding the timing of the fifth review by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the prime minister said the IMF has set a date for the fifth review and it is set to be implemented within the next few days.
The relevant committee needs some time to compile its report before beginning discussions with the IMF, he added. (MENA)
