ATHENS, May 7 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived on Wednesday in the Greek capital, Athens, on an official visit.
The visit falls within the framework of strengthening ties and cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, President Sisi will hold talks with his Greek counterpart Konstantinos Tasoulas, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Sisi will also preside over the first meeting of the Greece-Egypt High-Level Cooperation Council (HCC), with the participation of the Greek premier, who will chair the Greek side in the meeting.
The council is scheduled to discuss means to enhance bilateral ties in various domains, particularly in the energy, trade exchange, and economic cooperation ones.
The visit will witness the signing of a joint declaration on strategic partnership between the two countries, in addition to a number of memorandums of understanding to promote Egyptian-Greek cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
As for talks with Greek officials, the two sides will exchange views on the latest developments related to regional and international issues of mutual interest. (MENA)
