CAIRO, July 8 (MENA) - The Cabinet’s media center said Tuesday the system of the General Secondary Education (Thanaweya Amma) remains in place and will continue as it is without cancellation.

It clarified that the "Egyptian Baccalaureate" system is an optional, free, three-year system alongside Thanaweya Amma - not as a replacement for it.

The center refuted circulating rumors on a number of social media networks claiming that the Thanaweya Amma system would be canceled following the introduction of the Egyptian Baccalaureate project.

It further explained that the Egyptian Baccalaureate project aims to provide diverse educational pathways that align with students’ interests and abilities.

Egyptian Baccalaureate allows students to choose the subjects they study, with an emphasis on skills development rather than rote memorization, in line with global quality standards in education. (MENA)
