CAIRO, June 12 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty had talks with US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff on the joint efforts exerted by Egypt, US and Qatar to swiftly clinch a ceasefire deal in Gaza, release hostages and ensure full delivery of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip to alleviate the suffering of people.

This came during a phone call between both sides within the framework of continued coordination and consultations between Egypt and the US on the latest developments in the Middle East.

Abdelatty underlined the importance of reaching a durable and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The talks also tackled the latest developments in the US-Iranian negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program.

Abdelatty highlighted the importance of proceeding with the ongoing negotiations, considering this as a key opportunity to realize calmness and avoid escalation. (MENA)
