CAIRO, May 29 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty underlined on Thursday the importance of building on the outcome of Egyptian-Moroccan Business Forum, which was held in Cairo in May 2025.
He highlighted Egypt’s desire to strengthen the principle of economic partnership with Morocco and to capitalize on existing opportunities in both markets, as well as in neighboring countries.
He also expressed hope for the participation of Egyptian companies in infrastructure projects currently underway in Morocco in preparation for the 2030 World Cup.
The top diplomat made the remarks during a meeting with Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour in Rabat.
Abdelatty expressed keen interest in developing relations between the two brotherly nations across all fields.
He highlighted available opportunities to establish successful partnerships and the ongoing efforts to enhance trade and investment relations in light of reciprocal visits between officials of both countries.
The minister also expressed hope of achieving economic, commercial, and industrial integration that serves the interests of both countries.
He referred to the agreement reached between Egypt and Morocco during the visit of the Egyptian minister of investment and foreign trade to Morocco in February 2025, which aimed at facilitating trade exchange and investment access.
He reviewed the progress of the Egyptian economy and pointed to numerous opportunities to enhance economic and trade cooperation between Egypt and Morocco, increase the volume of bilateral trade, remove any barriers to commerce, and support Moroccan investments in Egypt and Egyptian investments in the Moroccan market.
He also discussed the trade frameworks and agreements between the two countries and the promising opportunities for jointly targeting neighboring African markets.
Abdelatty underlined the importance of holding the Joint Trade Committee in Cairo in 2025 to discuss trade issues between the two countries.
The minister also emphasized the importance of enhancing Egyptian participation in the international exhibitions and forums held annually in Morocco to promote investment opportunities and potential deals across various sectors.
He affirmed the interest in exploring cooperation between Egyptian and Moroccan ports in the field of logistics transport, as a means of boosting trade flows between the two countries. (MENA)
