CAIRO, Jan 23 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of Egypt and Somalia on cooperation in the field of information technology (IT), communications and postal services.

The MoU was signed by Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Somali Minister of Communications and Technology Jama Hassan Khalif.

The prime minister said this cooperation enhances the importance of the role played by communications and information technology in achieving comprehensive development in the two countries.

It also contributes to driving investment growth, facilitating partnerships, stimulating joint initiatives, and supporting Egypt-Somalia relations, Madbouli added.

After signing the MoU, the Egyptian communications minister said the deal targets supporting close, fruitful cooperation between both countries via the exchange of expertise in the communications and information technology field on the basis of common interest.

Meanwhile, the Somali minister said the MoU supports cooperation with Egypt in several fields. (MENA)
