SANTIAGO, July 13 (MENA) - Chile achieved a historic milestone by recording record export figures during the first half of this year, BRICS TV said Sunday.
The news network explained that Chile’s exports during the first six months of this year reached $52.8 billion, marking an increase of 6.7% compared to the same period last year.
In this context, BRICS TV referred to statements by Claudia Sanhueza, Undersecretary of International Economic Relations, who said that this historic achievement reflects the resilience of the export sector. She confirmed that the government is striving to open new export markets through signing new agreements, reducing non-tariff barriers and launching promotional campaigns for national exports.
At the same time, she pointed out that the government is placing special emphasis on diversifying its trade relations with countries around the world, expressing her belief that the government will be able to achieve unprecedented and record-breaking export figures during this year.
The network mentioned that the mining and agriculture sectors topped the list of exports, with mineral exports alone valued at $29.6 billion, while exports of fresh fruit reached $5.6 billion.
The international BRICS TV network is a media channel covering political, economic, historical, and cultural affairs of the member states of the BRICS group, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, along with the countries that later joined the group: Egypt, the UAE, Iran, and Ethiopia.
