NOUAKCHOTT/CAIRO, July 10 (MENA) – Egypt's Ambassador to Mauritania Ahmed Tayea met with Mauritanian Health Minister Abdallahi Ould Wedih to explore ways of enhancing cooperation in the health sector, capitalizing on the current momentum in ties.

The meeting followed recent high-level visits, including the Mauritanian health minister's trip to Cairo in May and a visit by Egypt's foreign minister to Nouakchott.

Talks focused on expanding Egyptian pharmaceutical exports, facilitating access for Egyptian drug firms to the Mauritanian market, and localizing the drug manufacturing in Mauritania.

The two sides also discussed finalizing a memorandum of understanding to increase Mauritania's imports of Egyptian medicines, and explored cooperation in medical tourism and health insurance. (MENA)
