CAIRO, June 30 (MENA) - The Cabinet's media center confirmed Monday that public hospitals will remain state-owned and will continue to provide all healthcare services for citizens.
The center denied rumors circulating about the government’s alleged intention to relinquish ownership of public hospitals through their sale and the suspension of all healthcare services provided to citizens.
It emphasized that no employees in public hospitals will be laid off. On the contrary, the state is working to improve the conditions of healthcare workers, and enhance the work environment, it said.
The center noted that the government’s current efforts are aiming to raise the efficiency of healthcare services through the promotion of cooperation vistas with the private sector.
Such collaboration contributes to expanding healthcare coverage and enhancing citizens' right to access healthcare services, with the same mechanisms currently in place, such as health insurance or treatment at the state's expense, according to it. (MENA)
