CAIRO, June 27 (MENA) - President of the Arab Council of the General Union of Arab Archaeologists Mohamed el-Kahlawy announced the opening of submissions for research abstracts that participate in the 28th conference of the council, scheduled to be held next November.

Abstract submissions will begin Friday and continue until August 30, after that they will be reviewed by the scientific committee responsible for selecting participating papers.

Director of the Media Office of the Arab Archaeologists Council Abdel Rahim Rihan, said the conference themes include: archaeological sciences, ancient and Islamic civilizations in all their branches, evaluating the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of archaeology and museum sciences, the risks posed by climate change, political upheaval and wars on archaeological sites and Arab identity, restoration, maintenance and rehabilitation of archaeological sites, buildings and museums, as well as the documentation and management of heritage and museum collections.

It will also address the rightful claims of Arab governments to recover looted antiquities and the need to curb illicit trafficking.

The conference will feature a distinguished group of researchers and experts from various Arab countries, who will lead scientific sessions and present research papers and workshops.

The event provides a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, academic cooperation and will grant participants certificates of attendance and publication of their research in the Annals of Arab Archaeologists journal. (MENA)
