CAIRO, June 18 (MENA) - Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat stressed the state's keenness on securing the proper climate incentivizing the growth of the outsourcing industry.

He noted that encouraging investments in the outsourcing domain is one of the key axes for promoting Egypt's position as a favorite destination for international companies operating in the field of outsourcing services.

He made the remarks on Wednesday while inspecting the HQ of VXI Global Solutions, a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) leader in customer service, customer experience, and digital solutions, in Cairo.

During the visit, the minister was accompanied by Ryan Collins, Chief Operating Officer at VXI Global, Erika King, Chief HR Officer at the global company, Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), alongside a number of high-ranking officials from VXI company and the ICT ministry.

Talaat said Egypt has been witnessing continuous expansion in the number of outsourcing centers within the framework of the ongoing efforts to develop this industry through investment in building digital capabilities and providing incentives; thus contributing to boosting Egypt’s digital exports and consolidating its position as a global hub for outsourcing services.

He added that Egypt is collaborating with companies operating in the outsourcing sector to expand the base of trained human cadres.

He noted that this visit fell within the ministry’s interest in enhancing communication with global companies operating in Egypt in the field of outsourcing services.

During the visit, the minister reviewed the workflow inside the company and stood on its expansion plans in the Egyptian market which will lead to increasing the number of employees from more than 1,000 currently to over 5,000 by the end of 2028, with total investments reaching $135 million.

The minister affirmed the state's commitment to enabling youth to acquire digital skills that qualify them for distinguished job opportunities in the outsourcing services sector, noting that it is one of the most promising sectors that offer broad prospects for professional growth and career development, in addition to providing rewarding returns.

VXI started operating in Egypt in December 2023.
