CAIRO, June 17 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said Egypt is seeing increased investment inflows, growing exports, and a rise in tourism as a result of economic and procedural reforms.
Speaking at the Egypt-Serbia Business Forum, he urged private sectors in both countries to forge partnerships and explore investment opportunities.
Madbouly welcomed Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut’s current visit to Cairo, highlighting Egypt's strategic location, vibrant private sector, and access to global markets via free trade agreements with the EU, Africa, the Arab world, and others—reaching over 3 billion consumers tariff-free.
He noted that bilateral trade has tripled since 2022, reaching $300 million in 2024, driven by recent high-level visits and the ratification of a free trade agreement last month. The deal gradually removes tariffs and includes provisions for joint ventures, technology transfer, and dispute resolution.
Madbouly said Egypt offers Serbian investors modern infrastructure, special economic zones, and streamlined procedures, including a "golden license" for investors. He also proposed trilateral cooperation in African markets, manufacturing, logistics, and reconstruction projects, especially ahead of Expo 2027 Belgrade.
