CAIRO, June 15 (MENA) - Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project Ahmed el-Sobky said the Authority seeks to incorporate latest global technological systems to keep pace with the rapid developments in the field of digital health.

During a meeting Sunday with General Manger of Konecta Egypt Tawfik Qandil and Chief Business Officer, MEA - Konecta Safinaz Elkattam to discuss joint cooperation in the fields of digital transformation and smart healthcare, the EHA head said the meeting is part of the Authority's efforts to expand strategic partnerships with major international companies that support technological innovation.

All drives came in line with the Authority's efforts to develop the technological infrastructure and promote innovation in the healthcare sector, Sobky said. He added that Konecta is a global leader in providing integrated technology solutions and serves as a major systems integrator. Its investments amount to approximately dlrs 200 million, reflecting the company's strength and experience in implementing major, high-quality projects.

The EHA chairman explained that the meeting took up opportunities for cooperation between the Authority and the company in providing integrated technology solutions that support the operation of smart healthcare facilities within the comprehensive health insurance system.

It also tackled establishing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence within the Authority's facilities, with the aim of supporting clinical decision-making, analyzing health data and improving the efficiency of services provided to citizens, Sobky said.

He added that all cooperation efforts fall within the Authority's plan for digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence to improve the quality of healthcare and provide more efficient and effective healthcare services.

For his part, Konecta general manger voiced his happiness regarding cooperation with the Authority, praising the EHA's ambitious vision for transition to smart healthcare systems. Qandil emphasized Konecta's preparedness to leverage its global expertise and significant investment capabilities to support and develop the digital infrastructure through a strategic partnership based on innovation and sustainability.
