CAIRO, June 2 (MENA) - Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb said the Egyptian Family House has played a significant role in fighting hate speech.

During a meeting Monday with head of the Evangelical Community in Egypt Reverend Andrea Zaki and his accompanying high-level delegation of Evangelical Church leaders, the grand imam said, exchanging greetings between Muslims and Christians is highly significant in confronting problems, especially social problems disguised as religious extremism.

The delegation congratulated Sheikh Tayeb on approaching Eidul-Adha, wishing Egypt and its people—both Muslims and Christians - continued security and stability.

The grand imam welcomed the Evangelical delegation's visit, emphasizing that these visits reflect the values ​​of friendship and brotherhood of the Egyptian social fabric.

"These visits are not a custom or a protocol, but rather, each visit and each meeting serves to deepen true human brotherhood," Tayeb said.

For his part, the head of the Evangelical community said, "We congratulate Your Eminence and all our Muslim brothers on the occasion of Eidul-Adha. We appreciate all your valuable efforts to preserve societal peace, strengthen the bonds of national unity, and spread global peace, love, and coexistence."

The grand imam represents a major religious and humanitarian value and a humanitarian leader whom we love, respect, and appreciate, said the head of the Evangelical Community.
