CAIRO, June 1 (MENA) - Arab Contractors has successfully lifted the floating hotel “Omar El Khayam” in Lake Nasser, Aswan, using innovative airbag technology, an engineering milestone marking the first use of the method in Egypt.
The project, overseen by the Ministry of Transport’s River Transport Authority, demonstrates Egypt’s growing capabilities in maritime and river engineering.
The floating hotel, weighing 3,200 tons and measuring 115 meters long, 16.2 meters wide, and 16 meters high, was lifted safely, marking the third successful application of this advanced method at Lake Nasser.
The project is expected to boost river tourism in Egypt, showcasing the engineering prowess of fully Egyptian teams. (MENA)
