For his part, Tangara conveyed the Gambian president’s greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and praised Egypt’s role in preserving peace and security.

He also praised President Sisi's efforts to maintain Egypt’s stability and security amid regional challenges, describing peace as the foundation for development.

Additionally, Tangara thanked Egypt for supporting Gambia's hosting of the Islamic Cooperation Summit and confirmed his country relies on Egypt as a strategic partner.

On Gaza, he called the situation a humanitarian tragedy, reaffirmed support for the Palestinians, and praised Egypt’s position. He also expressed admiration for Al Azhar’s moderate Islamic role and looked forward to meeting the Grand Imam.

Meanwhile, Abdelatty said that Cairo remains committed to ending violence in Gaza and ensuring aid access.

He stressed the need to achieve an immediate ceasefire, release of detainees, and sustained international pressure on Israel. He called on the world to recognize a Palestinian state and halt the collective punishment of civilians.

He also added that Egypt continues to coordinate with Qatar and the United States under the Arab-Islamic committee to stop the war and deliver relief. (MENA)
