MOSCOW, May 28 (MENA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed readiness of his country's border guard forces to repel any threat targeting Russia, Sputnik reported Wednesday.
In a speech the Russian president delivered on the occasion of the professional holiday of the Russian Border Guard Forces, Putin congratulated the civilian employees of the Border Guard Service, affiliated with the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on their professional holiday, "Border Guard Day."
Putin said, "The Border Guard Forces will achieve rewarding results in all areas of their work and will repel any threat." He added, "They have demonstrated heroic efforts in accomplishing important tasks during the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, and I am confident that they will continue to achieve remarkable results in all areas of their work to repel any threat, stop attempts to violate the state border, repel attacks by saboteurs and terrorists, and identify and eliminate channels for drug trafficking, illegal immigration, and smuggling."
The Russian Border Guard is determined to defend Russia's interests, security and territorial integrity and contribute to developing effective cross-border cooperation and integration with Russia's partners, he said. (MENA)
