CAIRO, May 27 (MENA) - Egypt condemned on Tuesday storming Al Aqsa mosque by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and a large number of extremist settlers, as part of Israel's ongoing escalation.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said that Egypt reiterates warning of the consequences of such provocative actions that offend the beliefs and sentiments of hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world.

Egypt raised alarm over repercussions of these reckless actions and their impact on the region's security and stability.

The international community should confront these serious Israeli violations and support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish an independent state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem (Al Quds) as its capital, the statement read.
