CAIRO, May 20 (MENA) - The chairman of Sumitomo Global Corporation on Tuesday said that products of the mega company that bear "Made in Egypt" label are shipped from its factories to several destinations across Europe and beyond, demonstrating the excellence of the Egyptian industry.
He hailed remarkable development of the Egyptian industry, dedication of the workforce, favorable work environment and the ongoing modernization.
While delivering a speech during inauguration of the new factory of SE Wiring Systems Egypt, the director of the company said: “Every day, products bearing the 'Made in Egypt' label are shipped from our factories, enhancing vehicle efficiency across Europe and beyond. These products embody the essence of our industry and highlight the excellence of Egyptian manufacturing.”
He reviewed Sumitomo’s history, emphasizing that the company has established itself as a global leader in the production of electrical wiring harnesses, driven by innovation, quality, and excellence.
In 2008, the company expanded and launched its operations in Egypt, marking the beginning of a new milestone in its long-standing history, the head of the company said, adding that over the past 17 years, the company has witnessed significant growth and development in Egypt.
He added: “Today, we proudly celebrate an important achievement—the establishment of our most advanced factory in the city of 10th of Ramadan. This milestone affirms our commitment to strengthening our industrial activities and contributing to Egypt’s economic growth.”
The Chairman of Sumitomo Global confirmed that since the company's operations began in Egypt, there has been a strong commitment to supporting local communities and developing employees.
Earlier in the day, - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inaugurated SE Wiring Systems Egypt, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Electric Systems Europe, located in the 10th of Ramadan City, Sharqia Governorate.
Madbouli was also accompanied by Deputy Minister of Finance for Tax Policies Sherif Elkilany, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Hossam Heiba and Industrial Development Authority (IDA) chief Nahed Youssef.
With investments worth 22 million euros, the factory is built on an area of 150,000 square meters and is expected to create approximately 3,000 direct job opportunities. The facility is considered one of the largest in the world dedicated to the production of automotive wiring harnesses. (MENA)
