CAIRO, May 19 (MENA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy el-Gebaly praised on Monday the solid and deep-rooted relations binding Egypt and Saudi Arabia, highlighting efforts aimed at further promoting economic cooperation and trade exchange.

During a meeting Monday with Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council Abdul Aziz bin Khalid Al-Ghanim and his accompanying delegation at the House of Representatives headquarters on Monday, the House speaker called for more Saudi investments in Egypt, given its promising and attractive business environment.

Gebaly lauded the good and strong relations between the leaderships of the two countries, emphasizing that bilateral cooperation is witnessing positive momentum and growth.

He stressed the need to enhance cooperation between the Egyptian House of Representatives and the Saudi Shura Council, mainly pertaining to exchanging legislative expertise and coordinating parliamentary stances before international and regional parliamentary forums on issues of common interest.

As for the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, the speaker of the House of Representatives reviewed the firm Egyptian stand in this regard, based on the necessity of reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire, supporting the Gaza early recovery and reconstruction plan and categorically rejecting the displacement of Palestinians from their land.

For his part, the speaker of the Saudi Shura Council voiced happiness over his current visit to Egypt, saying it attests to the strong bilateral ties.

Ghanim confirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Egypt in various fields.

He hailed the development and urban boom achieved by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Egypt and stressed Saudi Arabia's solid and unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, affirming that Egypt and Saudi Arabia share identical views in this respect. (MENA)
