CAIRO, May 13 (MENA) - Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos underlined the importance of continued coordination and intensified efforts to curb regional tension in order to promote security and stability.
This came during a phone call between the two ministers within the framework of periodical coordination and consultation to foster bilateral relations.
He voiced hope to elevate bilateral relations through opening broader cooperation vistas in various domains, topped by the economic and trade sectors.
Abdelatty welcomed Cyprus’ support for Egypt in various European Union institutions, especially regarding the European financial package provided to Egypt.
The two ministers also affirmed the importance of following up on the outcomes of the 10th summit of the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece, which Egypt hosted last January, to serve the interests of the three friendly countries.
They exchanged views on several regional and international issues of mutual concern, during which Abdelatty briefed his Cypriot counterpart on Egypt’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. (MENA)
