CAIRO, May 6 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty voiced hope to swiftly finalize procedures for disbursing the second tranche of the European financial package to Egypt, valued at €4 billion, especially after the European Parliament's initial approval of the tranche on April 1.

He made the remarks during a phone call with European Commissioner for Economy Valdis Dombrovskis.

The phone call fell within the framework of continued communication with European commissioners to further the deeply-rooted ties between Egypt and the EU.

Abdelatty welcomed the European Commission’s efforts to support the six-pronged strategic partnership between Egypt and the EU, especially the economic axis.

He asserted Egypt's keenness to continue cooperation with the European Commission to encourage European investments in light of the government's interest in luring foreign investments.

He highlighted Egypt's promising economic potential, ongoing support for the private sector as well as facilitations offered for investors.

He pointed out to the broad economic and financial reforms recently undertaken. (MENA)
