During Labor Day events, President Sisi viewed a presentation on PharmaPlast’s new factory for medical supplies in Borg El Arab.
For his part, Dr. George Magdy, the company’s sales and marketing director, said that the facility is the first in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East to produce advanced dressings for pressure ulcers, diabetic foot wounds, and chronic injuries.
The plant was built with EGP 400 million in investments on a 7,500 square meter site and includes eight production lines.
He noted that thirty-two wound care products have been registered with the Egyptian Drug Authority to global quality standards.
The company's official also added that the factory joins 11 other factories in the Amreya Free Zone and contributes to lowering Egypt’s import bill.
Additionally, he pointed out that around 70% of its production is exported to 85 countries, with $60 million in current export value. That figure is expected to rise to $80 million with entry into the US and African markets. (MORE)
