CAIRO, April 9 (MENA) - Strong and deep relations between Egypt and France are crowned with the official historic visit paid by French President Emmanuel Macron to Egypt in the past days, said Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.

Madbouli added the visit was aiming to foster joint cooperation on all fronts, with an emphasis on economic cooperation between the two countries.

The visit saw the elevation of Egyptian-French relations to the level of a strategic partnership and the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding between the two countries to enhance strategic cooperation, the premier said while chairing the weekly meeting of the government in its premises in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

Macron's trip is considered an important step toward the promotion of joint cooperation, according to him.

The meeting offered an important chance for probing a number of topics and files.

The visit of the French president to Egypt came to emphasize France's solidarity with tireless efforts exerted by the Egyptian state, led by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to calm the situation amid consecutive developments at both regional and international arenas, topped by the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip.

Additionally, Madbouli said Macron's visit has had a very positive outcome as it aimed to enhance economic cooperation between both states, with special focus on boosting French investments in the country. (MENA)
