Speaking at the joint press conference with the Chinese foreign minister, Abdelatty said they agreed on the importance of working together to increase tourist flows to Egypt to enjoy the ancient Egyptian civilization and the great achievements in various fields.

They also agreed on encouraging Chinese investments and enhancing popular, cultural and educational exchange, particularly between youth from the two countries.

During the talks, they stressed the necessity of continuing mutual coordination on the main issues, and adopting stances based on respecting the sovereignty of states, not interfering in their internal affairs, and cherishing the UN Charter.

Abdelatty asserted Egypt's legitimate rights to maintain its water security and stability in the face of challenges, underlining Egypt's efforts to fight terrorism.

The two sides also agreed on shoring up cooperation between the two countries in fighting the global phenomenon of terrorism, he said, noting that no country by itself can confront terrorism.

He stressed the necessity of adopting an approach that takes into account all its security, economic, social dimensions, in addition to combating extremist ideology, and cutting off funding sources for terrorist organizations.

The minister also took up the two countries stances regarding regional and international issues of mutual interest, topped by the Palestinian issue as it is the core of the conflict in the region.

They agreed on the necessity of reaching an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, allowing full access to humanitarian and medical aid, and establishing an independent Palestinian state in accordance with relevant UN resolutions to create a political horizon for achieving lasting and just peace.

Abdelatty made it clear that using military force and its arrogance will not help realize security and stability for Israel or the entire region,

He stressed the necessity of restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and establishing an independent Palestinian state, with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital and based on the 1967 borders to achieve security and stability for Israel and the whole region. (MORE)
