CAIRO, Aug 8 (MENA) - Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir discussed Thursday with a delegation from the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology ways of boosting joint economic and investment cooperation between Egypt and the UAE.
During the meeting, the minister tackled the latest developments in ongoing negotiations between the two sides regarding the establishment of a UAE large and industrial zone in the country to meet the needs of the local market and boost exports to foreign markets.
The new industrial zone will include projects to produce solar energy and a factory for producing equipment and supplies of wind power production, sewage treatment and seawater desalination plants.
Wazir confirmed the establishment of the zone comes as part of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to promote industrial and investment cooperation between the two countries and build on strong ties between them on all fronts.
He said there are unique and special investment opportunities before UAE investors in several projects in Aluminium industries in the Egyptian market.
In conclusion, the two sides underscored the importance of activating the integrated industrial partnership between Egypt and a number of Arab countries, topped by the UAE. (MENA)
