CAIRO, March 21 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly affirmed the government's commitment to continuing economic structural reforms in light of the approach adopted by the Egyptian state in this regard through the implementation of the State's Ownership Policy Document, which aims to enhance the role of the private sector in investment and ensure optimal management of state assets, while also working to accelerate cooperation with development partners, including the European Union.

This came during the Prime Minister's chairing of a meeting on Thursday to follow up on the ongoing arrangements for organizing an investment conference in cooperation with the European Union.

Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said, Minister of International Cooperation Rania El Mashat, Minister of Finance Mohammed Maait, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone Walid Gamal Eldin, Deputy Minister of Finance for Financial Policies Ahmed Kouchouk, Deputy Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone Mohamed Abdel Gawad Allam, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Hossam Heiba, as well as officials from various ministries and relevant authorities.

During the meeting, the premier noted that the investment conference is to be held in line with an agreement reached during a recent Egyptian-European Summit, held in Cairo and attended by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the president of the European Commission, and several European leaders. During the summit, it was agreed to hold the joint investment conference to shed light on investment opportunities in Egypt, thereby enhancing the engagement of European companies in the Egyptian market.
He said that discussions are currently under way regarding the conference's date and proposed agenda.

Ministers and officials, during the meeting, presented their views on the most suitable timing for holding the conference and their suggestions regarding its guests.

Spokesperson for the Cabinet Mohamed El-Hommosani stated that the CEO of the General Authority for Investment presented a proposal on the name of the conference and its timing and location as well as some of the topics it will address. These include economic reforms in the Egyptian business market, the investment environment, green economy and industrial development.

The meeting also took up matters related to the organization of the event at the technical, logistics and media levels. (MENA)
