The Minister of Environment, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, said that climate change has become an imperative, which prompted Egypt to prepare its first national strategy for climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction in 2011, as well as the Low Emission Development Strategy (LEDS) in 2018, which is also the reason Behind the request of the National Climate Change Council (NCCC) to develop the first comprehensive national climate change strategy (NCCS) for Egypt until 2050 to address the negative effects of climate change. This came during her speech at the conference launching the strategy, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and a number of ministries.
